BEYOND WORKING HARDER OR SMARTER:
WORKING WITH
by Beverly Sastri
In any team sport there are times
when you should take the lead and times when the best thing you
can do is pass the ball or puck to a teammate. It's the same with
the sport called "building my business" - from a universal
perspective every one of our visions is a team effort. When we
forget to ask for and be open to assistance from that larger energy,
we are like the basketball player who refuses to ever pass the
ball - we miss important opportunities and slow or sabotage our
own progress. There is another way!
WORKING WITH - IT WORKS!
Susan went to a friend to declare
her renewed determination to build her business. She made it clear
she was no longer going to let her fears and concerns get in the
way; that she had a renewed commitment to making the business
happen. The next week Susan received a phone call from a local
newspaper - they had heard about a class she was teaching and
wanted an interview. The story appeared on the front page and
new clients began calling.
Tom was just leaving on a trip
when he learned of a newspaper article that, while directed at
a different company, could create serious public relations issues
for his own organization. He passed a newsstand while walking
to the airline gate and a book title caught his eye: "Integrity
- It's All You Have". Those words crystallized his intentions
and became the basis behind every action he took to manage the
fallout from the article.
What do these individuals have
in common? Susan and Tom not only accepted their own responsibility
for managing their businesses - they also worked cocreatively
with the larger universal energy to generate results.
ACHIEVE MORE WITH LESS EFFORT
Cocreation begins by perceiving
yourself and everything else in the world as one inseparable,
interrelated sphere of energy. You are literally swimming in an
energy pool and your every thought, word and action becomes a
wave-form in that pool . . . interacting with all the other wave-forms
and bringing back to you all manner of unforeseen synchronicity,
confluence and guidance. When you consciously interact with this
energetic dynamic, your purposeful intention has the effect of
focusing and increasing the support, opportunities and guidance
that come your way. Following are three key steps in the cocreative
process.
STEP #1: BALANCE YOUR THINKING MIND
WITH YOUR HIGHER TRUTH
Our personal connection to this
energy pool can be experienced through what many call their "gut
instinct" or "clear voice within". I call this
our higher truth. Our higher truth is the natural complement to
our thinking minds. It is the source of our insights and creativity.
Sadly, most of us were raised to rely primarily on our intellect
for guidance, especially in the area of business. As powerful
as your intellect is, it only represents half of your full capability
- and its power is enhanced exponentially when you link it to
your higher truth. It is not an accident that successful CEO's
are often referred to as visionaries; their success comes from
using their thinking minds and their "gut instincts"
in determining business strategies and creative ideas.
STEP #2: WHATEVER YOU CAN ENVISION,
YOU CAN CREATE
Many of my clients have a new
or existing business they want to build. The most successful are
those who have a clear, personally compelling vision for their
business: its purpose, its success, and the difference it makes
in their own and their customers' lives. Experiencing passion
and enthusiasm for your business is a clue that what you are pursuing
is in alignment with your higher truth. And as your higher truth
is given by the larger universal truth, your vision points to
what you are meant to create. From an energetic perspective your
vision naturally seeks its own manifestation into physical being
- it has the same propulsion towards life as does your physical
body. Our biggest challenge is to get out of our own way long
enough to allow our vision to do what it's designed to do - become
a reality.
STEP #3: DON'T WORK ALONE - WORK WITH
THE UNIVERSAL ENERGY
One of the best times to ask for
help from the universe is when you are stuck - and interestingly,
this is often the very time when in our frustration or outright
panic we forget to ask. Instead we try to work harder or smarter,
all the while missing the fact that the biggest problem is that
we are trying to work ALONE. Instead of trying to solve the problem
yourself, look around you to the people, insights and resources
that patiently await your discovery.
Start to cocreate: make
logical choices around your business while also pursuing directions
that are presented to you by the universe. My own business plan
is constantly being revised based on the universe's input. I've
learned to trust that input and step into new opportunities regardless
of whether I think I am ready or able. Practice passing the ball,
and be ready to take the shot when the ball is passed back to
you!
Summary: How to Cocreate a Business
You Love
1. Work with the larger energetic
dynamics that illuminate and affect your life.
2. Balance your thinking mind
with your inspired, intuitive voice within.
3. Write a vision for your
business that is personally compelling and evocative.
4. Notice the opportunities,
lessons and guidance that occur to help you.
5. When you are stuck, pass
the ball! Give the universe a chance to help.
